Privacy policy
This policy explains how the operator of the Triangle Parade of Homes companion app and builder dashboard (“we,” “us”) handles information from visitors and from builder and realtor staff. It covers the website, the mobile apps, and the dashboard. The terms and conditions govern use of the service. If you do not agree with this policy, do not use the service.
Who this covers
“You” means a visitor using the companion app or website, and a person using the dashboard on behalf of a builder or brokerage. The service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and accounts are only for people 18 or older.
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email, password if you create one, and the sign-in method you choose (email, or Apple or Google where those options are offered).
- Homes you save, tour stops you plan, and the date and order of those stops.
- Notes and photos you attach to a visit. Those stay on your account. They are not sent to a builder as part of a request for information.
- A request for information: your name, email, phone number if you provide one, your message, and a snapshot of your buyer profile if you have one (such as budget, preferred areas, timeframe, and beds).
- A financing choice. If you check the box to hear about financing from the Parade’s presenting sponsor, that choice is stored with the request.
- Optional feedback about whether price or size felt right. Builders see totals, not your name next to an answer.
- For dashboard users: your name, email, role, phone if it is on the staff roster, and the builder or brokerage your account is tied to. Listing text and photos you upload are included.
Information collected as you use the service
- Location, only while the app is in use and only if you allow it, to estimate when you are at a Parade home so a Passport stamp can be recorded and nearby saved homes can be pointed out. We do not ask for always-on background location. You can turn location off in your phone settings. Check-in will not work without it.
- Visit records: the home, the time, and whether a dwell was confirmed. These records also feed Passport stamps and builder activity counts.
- A push notification token and which notification categories you turn on, if you allow notifications.
- Guest status. Browsing as a guest still creates an account on our systems so saves and stamps can stay on that device. If you later create a full account on the same device, that guest record can be merged into it.
- Dashboard sign-in cookies that keep a staff session logged in. The public marketing pages do not use advertising cookies.
- Basic technical data needed to operate and secure the service, such as which account is signed in and the fact that a request succeeded or failed.
How we use it
- To show Parade homes, maps, tours, notes, and your Passport.
- To deliver a request for information to the builder for that home, including by email to staff on that builder’s lead-alert roster, and to show it in the dashboard.
- To show a builder activity on that builder’s own homes, such as saves, tour plans, visits, and requests, as described under “Who we share it with.”
- To show builders anonymous or aggregated feedback, and audience totals such as typical budget, timeframe, and areas, without listing who said what.
- To send the notifications you turn on, to keep accounts and the dashboard secure, and to fix and improve the service.
- To meet a legal duty, or to respond to a lawful request.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Who we share it with
The builder of a home you engage with. If you are signed in and you save, plan, or visit one of their homes, that builder’s staff can see your name and email, if we have them, with that activity. A guest who has not added an email is shown as a guest, not by name. A request for information shares the form you submitted, including phone number, message, buyer-profile snapshot, and financing choice if you selected it. Staff must use that information only to follow up on their own homes, under the terms.
A financing sponsor, only if you opt in. Checking the financing box means that choice travels with your request so you can be contacted about financing for a Parade home. Leave the box unchecked if you do not want that.
Service providers. We use vendors to host the service, store data, send email, and deliver push notifications. They may process information only to provide those services. Hosting and the database are on Supabase. Push notifications use the Expo notification service when you allow them.
A company that takes over the service, if we reorganize or transfer it, and authorities when the law requires it or when we need to protect the service, our users, or other people from harm or fraud.
Notes and photos you add for yourself are not included in the message sent to a builder. We do not give builders a directory of every Parade visitor.
How long we keep it
- Account, save, tour, note, photo, and visit data: for as long as your account exists, then for a limited backup period.
- A request for information: long enough for that builder to follow up during and after the Parade, and longer if we must keep it for a legal claim or a legal duty.
- Feedback and audience totals: in aggregated form, which is not meant to identify you.
- Dashboard and security logs: for as long as needed to run and protect the service.
Deleting the app from your phone does not by itself delete the account on our servers. Sign out, and ask us to delete the account if you want the server copy removed.
Your choices and requests
- Location and notifications are optional and can be changed in your phone settings. Denying them turns off check-in and some alerts.
- You can browse as a guest. Saves and stamps on that device can later attach to a full account you create there.
- You choose what to put in a request for information. Sending one shares that form with the builder. The financing box is optional.
- Dashboard users can sign out. Signing out ends that browser session. It does not delete the staff record a builder already has.
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to tell you what we disclosed. Write from the email on your account and describe the request. We will verify that the request is yours. We may decline a request where the law allows it, including when we must keep a record of a message you already sent to a builder, or when the information is only an aggregate that does not identify you.
Depending on where you live, including California, you may have additional rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to appeal a refusal. We will not discriminate against you for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define “sell” and “share.”
Security
We use access controls so a builder’s dashboard shows that builder’s homes, and so visit notes are not published as leads. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. Use a unique password and tell us if you believe your account was accessed without permission.
Where information is processed
We and our service providers process information in the United States. If you use the service from somewhere else, you understand that your information will be handled in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If a change materially expands how we use personal information, we will provide a clearer notice when we have a reasonable way to reach you. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the update.
